On this Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, Philip Suarez, a U.S. Army veteran and America First conservative running for Congress in Texas’ 10th District, reaffirms his unwavering support for the brave men and women who serve and protect our communities.
“Our law enforcement officers put their lives on the line every day to ensure our safety,” said Suarez. “They deserve our gratitude, respect, and unwavering support—not the baseless attacks and defunding efforts pushed by radical progressives and ignored by weak establishment Republicans. Texans value safety, security, and law and order, and I stand with law enforcement to protect those values.”
Policy Highlights:
Increase Funding: LEOs must be equipped to handle any threat with the appropriate tactics, including advanced training in non-lethal methods like martial arts, ensuring they have more options to protect both themselves and the community.
Increase Expectations: LEOs must be physically capable of meeting the demands of their role. Agencies should be required to prioritize fitness programs to ensure officers are prepared for the field, keeping both them and the public safe.
Rhetoric & Community Policing: LEOs should be admired and appreciated for their service. By fostering community relationships through outreach programs and partnerships, we can create safer neighborhoods and stronger trust between officers and the people they serve.
Criminal Activity Transparency: LE agencies receiving federal funding must be required to disclose comprehensive crime data to the NCIC, including demographic details. Transparency ensures accountability and helps allocate resources to address root causes of crime.
“Our communities have become increasingly less safe and we’re all suffering because of it,” Suarez added. “Defunding the police isn’t the answer; empowering them is. Texans want safe neighborhoods, thriving communities, and officers who feel supported and equipped to do their jobs effectively.”
